SC Farm Report on Tuesday

    Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, all classes 
of feeder cattle were 3.00 to 5.00 higher.  Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 152.50-168.00, 500-600 lbs 143.00-163.00.  Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 152.50-168.00, 500-600 lbs 141.00-159.00.
 Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 125.00-140.00, 500-600 lbs
 120.00-135.00.  Slaughter cows were 2.00 to 4.00 higher.  
Slaughter cows:  Breakers 75-80% lean 63.00-65.00; Boners 85-85% lean 52.00-75.00;
 Lean 85-90% lean 50.00-64.00; Lean low dressing 30.00-44.00. Slaughter bulls were
 2.00 to 4.00 higher.  Slaughter Bulls: 1165-2055 lbs 52.00-94.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Saluda - Small and medium frame 1-2 760-940 lbs middle age 
cows with 115-435 lbs calves 610.00-930.00 per pair. Williamston - 
Medium Large 1-2 990-1200 lbs young to middle age cow with 125-260 lbs calf
 1100.00-1475.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.33 lower at 38.54.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 30.06; 450-500 lbs 34.27; 500-550 lbs 38.08. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday.  New crop corn was 4 to 5 cents higher; elevator 
bids 4.06-4.32, processor bids 4.37-4.67.  Soybeans were 12 to 13 cents higher; 
elevator bids 8.42-8.78, processor bid 9.17 and export 9.27.  New Crop 
Wheat was mostly steady to one cent lower; one location was 5 cents higher; 
elevator bids 4.82-5.22. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.77 
higher at 67.28. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday. Beets 25 lb sks Red type Topped 16.00; Cabbage 
50 lb ctns Green type 20.00; Cilantro ctns bnchd 30s 10.00; Greens dz
